Though I appreciate this sudden awareness, it’s a bit worrying that most of the responses here treat this as new news. Independent studies have found this to be the case for at least three years; even Forbes and NY Daily News have written on the topic. Perhaps it’s a sign of how problematic customized news reading is; if it doesn’t affect you, you might never know about it.
