Dead Beat Dads (DBDs) Release

On January 16th, 2023 Dads finally arrived to the Cronos blockchain. Dead Beat Dads is like no other NFT collection on Cronos. Original. Pixelated. Hilarious. You will love these Dads unconditionally, but they won’t love you back. There are 3000 DBDs and with 6 trait categories and 10 to 14 traits within each category, every DBD will be unique. There are also five 1 of 1 Legendary DBDs within the collection.

Utility and Future Collections

Upon initial release Dead Beat Dads have no utility (except as an awesome PFP!!!), hence the low mint price (25CRO). However, there are plans to add utility/value to these NFTs as the project grows and future collections are released.

The next collection to be released will be called “Trophy Wives” (TW). The collection size will also be 3000 but it will cost more to mint (TBD). 10% of mint funds from Trophy wives will go back to DBD NFT holders and the majority of the rest will go towards investments that the community will decide on. Some will go towards project development and the team.

To complete the family, a 3rd collection called “Teenage Dirtbags” (TD) will be released. There will be 5000 Teenage Dirtbags in the collection.

One will need a DBD and a Trophy Wife in order to mint a Teenage Dirtbag, and this is how it will work:

You will send one DBD and one TW on a honeymoon of your choice. There will be 3 options: Bora Bora (Tier 1), Paris (Tier 2) or Atlantic City (Tier 3)

Each honeymoon tier has a cost and a locking period:

Tier 1 will cost 50 CRO and have a 28 day locking period.
Tier 2 will cost 25 CRO and have a 14 day locking period.
Tier 3 will cost 10 CRO and have a 7 day locking period.

There will be a max number of “honeymoons” for each wallet in each tier:

Tier 1 = 5 at a time/wallet
Tier 2 = 10 at a time/wallet
Tier 3 = 20 at a time/wallet
When the locking period ends, you will be able to claim a Birth Certificate NFT. There will be 3 tiers of Birth Certificates depending on which honeymoon you chose. In addition there will be Legendary Birth Certificates spread throughout the honeymoons with a higher chance to get one in Tier 1 and Tier 2.
The different tiered birth certificates will allow someone to mint from 3 different ranked pools of Teenage Dirtbags (TD). Tier 1 birth certificates will randomly mint a TD ranked 11–500 (Top 10%). Tier 2 birth certificates will allow one to randomly mint a ranked 501–2000 (Top 40%). Finally, Tier 3 birth certificates will allow one to randomly mint a ranked 2001–5000 TD. There will be 10 Legendary Teenage Dirtbags (equally ranked 1)
All that it will cost to mint your Teenage Dirtbag is your Birth Certificate! You will only need to pay gas fees.
10% of Mint funds from Teenage Dirtbags will go towards DBD holders. The majority of mint funds will be used towards a staking pool for Trophy Wives. We can’t forget about our Wives!

Finally, Teenage Dirtbags will be able to be staked to earn passive income. The profits from investments (using Trophy Wife mint funds) will be distributed to the staking pool. You will stake your Teenage Dirtbags for a share of these earnings. We are considering two options: Option 1 incorporates ranks to earn more rewards e.g Tier 1 (rank 1–500) will earn 3x rewards; Tier 2 (rank 501–2000) will earn 2x rewards; Tier 3 will earn 1x rewards. Option 2 does not incorporate ranks and all Teenage Dirtbags earn the same amount.

Future Plans

Let’s be honest with ourselves and not get too far into making plans in the future. The crypto and NFT space changes so quickly and we don’t want to disappoint our community by trying to predict what’s to come. We can tell you that if we are successful with executing our initial vision there is so much more we can create. Homes? GameFi?
