I am a white 63-yr old female computer technician and can tell you stories like the one above. Most, not all, of my customers tend to be older women. They tell me all the time how much more comfortable they are with me. I am not like that last whipper snapper who thought he knew all there was to know about computers! They tell me most of the time the technician never talk to them and they so don’t trust them. I have one WWII veteran who complains about the limey movies his wife watches all the time. I just smile and ask them if they have any other questions about their computer and leave as soon as I can. Come to think about it, it is mostly the older generation that is prone to discriminate like that. Sometimes I think it must be the era in which they grew up. I mean, who calls Englishmen Limeys anymore? Or refers to black people as coloreds. Being that I am approaching old geezer age rather quickly I have already given my young nephew permission to smack me up along side my head if anything stupid like that comes out of my mouth. People. If we were all the same we would die of boredom.
