You’re right, it’s exhausting trying to constantly be on the right side of things. Honestly, I’ve retreated a lot from public conversations on politics over the last several years because I’ve realized that (for myself) it just isn’t worth being vocal because it’s so easy to put my foot in it somehow with someone I didn’t mean to offend. As excited as I am that we have active liberal political movements at all, I keep finding myself in conversations where people are having a bad time because they’re not listening or being listened to and no one even recognizes it.

Anyway, I apologize if I was a scold at all. I’ve just gotten yelled at by a lot of people and being specific and sensitive has been a good practice for me. Keep it up, and don’t forget to support your local newspaper!
