I dont want to make it seem like I am making excuses or “caping” for this older white woman but I don’t see anything wrong with what she said or suggested. You were looking at foundations and you even said “Because I am a woman of color it is sometimes difficult to find a foundation that’s my correct shade or one that blends well with my skin and usually once I do find the shade is sold out.” the sales lady probably knows this is typical and want to let you know that this particular Walgreens is offering shades for black people. They noticed the shopper demographic is changing and instead of excluding black women they are trying to include us. I dont think of black skin as a burden. I would be more upset if the white sales woman tried to offer me skin bleaching serum. Now that would make me feel like my dark skin is a burden. I hope I haven’t offended you.
