I’ve always had a passion for basketball since a very young age. I use to dream of playing college basketball and playing one day in the NBA. My desire for basketball started in the year 2003 when Dwyane Wade was drafted to the Miami Heat. I was born in Miami and was a fan of the Miami Heat and Dwade was one of the best rookies in the draft, next to Lebron of course. They he used his speed to get to the basket, he earned the nickname flash and I wanted to be just like him.

When I got to high school, I made the varsity basketball team in my sophomore year. I was the youngest player on the team and i didn’t play too much but my coach saw potential in me and i learned a lot from the older guys on the team. I continued to watch Dwyane Wade film and used his game to help my own. My junior year game and my coach saw a tremendous growth in my game and my confidence level.

I played a lot more my junior year gained respect from all the players on the team and my coach as well. I did plenty of research on Dwyane Wade and he didn’t make the varsity team until his junior year. By his senior year he was team captain. Just like Dwade, I became team captain my senior and a solid season and lead us to the playoffs. During my three years of high school basketball learned how to work with a team, i built self confidence and learned to never give up. I had so much fun with my team and it was the best three years of my life.
