Don’t forget, Heller Was The Only One to Vote Against Bailouts
Nevada conservative, Dean Heller, was the only member of the Nevada congressional delegation to vote against the Auto and Wall Street bailouts.
“The policies of the Obama Administration made economic recovery more difficult. In addition to racking up a staggering national debt that now hovers near $20 trillion, the Administration lost $1.3 billion of taxpayers’ dollars and is still trying to claim that the auto bailout was a success. Red tape and big government programs cannot replace private sector-job growth.” — Dean Heller
Dean Heller was the ONLY Member of the Nevada congressional delegation to vote against the Auto and Wall Street bailouts.
He expressly opposed the Wall Street Bailout and frequently referred to it as “Wall Street arrogance.” As the only reliable conservative voice against it he said, “they created their problems and they want someone else to bail them out. Yes, we were in a crisis, but there are ways we can get out of the crisis without putting taxpayers on the hook.”
Dean wasn’t afraid to make it clear that the core of bailout legislation was flawed and put Nevada taxpayers on the hook.
“The bailouts and spending have put our country on an unsustainable path.” — Dean Heller

When President Obama came to office, our nation’s debt was more than $10 trillion. Eight years later, our debt is nearly $19.8 trillion and growing fast.
Dean Heller has long opposed excessive spending by our federal government from the Wall Street Bailout to former President Obama’s stimulus plan. He knows it’s essential that we rein in spending, address these yearly deficits, and get the national debt under control.
He even has a plan:
“I am not just talking about solving the problem, I am actively pushing a solution with “No Budget, No Pay”. One of the fundamental responsibilities of Congress is to budget and pay its spending bills on time. Year after year under this past Administration, Congress just kicked the spending can down the road. Just as Nevadans have to pay their bills on time so too should Congress.” — Dean Heller
For years, our national debt has continued to grow because Washington refused to get serious about spending and continues to be a pain free zone. As a result, Americans are working harder and harder to get ahead but are falling behind.
It’s time for fiscal sanity and to get our debt under control, and Dean Heller has a plan to get us there.
