Dean Heller’s Veteran Bill Heads to President’s Desk
VA Choice Program by Heller Bolsters Veteran Workforce
Dean Heller’s leadership within Nevada’s veteran community paid off again as funding to continue the VA Choice program passes through both chambers of Congress and is now headed to the President’s desk to be signed into law.
All too often, veterans need medical care that the VA can’t provide and without the Choice Program — they’re presented with limited medical options or the choice to drive hundreds of miles to the next VA facility to receive care. The VA Choice Program will enable veterans to seek life-saving treatments, therapies, and essential medical resources outside of the VA and within their own communities.
Funding for this program delivers imperative medical access to veterans, specifically in rural portions of Nevada. It also bolsters the VA workforce, providing it with trainings and recruitment practices to increase quality of care for veterans throughout our country.
“Guaranteeing Nevada’s veterans continue to have access to the VA Choice program has always been a top priority of mine, so I was proud to play an important role in getting funding for the program across the finish line and to the President’s desk to be signed into law” — Dean Heller
Under no circumstances should our veterans be deprived of the medical services they need to live happy and healthy lives. With Dean Heller’s leadership, the VA Choice Program will continue to thrive and deliver on our nation’s promises to its bravest heroes.
Although there is always progress to be made within the VA, this is an outstanding win for our veterans and their families. Dean Heller remains committed to ensuring veterans throughout our nation continue to receive top of the line care they deserve. It’s clear, Dean Heller will never stop fighting for those who put their lives on the line to protect and preserve America’s freedoms.
