Trump Making Heller, Cruz, Rubio Jerusalem Embassy Act a Reality

President Trump announced the United States will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and committed to relocate the American embassy to Jerusalem, a move Dean Heller has championed by co-sponsoring the Jerusalem Embassy and Recognition Act along with Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.

As Israel remains to be one of America’s strongest allies in the fight against terrorism and in promoting peace in the Middle East, Dean has found the Trump Administration’s work to relocate Israel’s capital beneficial to this relationship and crucial for the Jewish community worldwide.

Heller, Cruz, and Rubio have made it a point to stay the course until the United States’ promise to our strongest and oldest ally in the Middle East is implemented to the fullest degree.

Their Jerusalem Embassy and Recognition Act would permanently move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem while simultaneously recognizing the city as Israel’s undivided capital.

Dean’s commitment to this cause has been unwavering.

“Today’s decision sends a message to our strongest and oldest ally in the Middle East: the United States stands with Israel.” -Dean Heller

It has been over 20 years since the Jerusalem Embassy Act, a past Congressional initiative to establish Jerusalem as Israel’s official capital, became law yet no progress has been made until now.

“As one of our top allies and promoters of democracy in the Middle East, Israel must have no doubt America will be there to defend it against all foes.”
