Australian business culture seems to stem from the premise of implementing best practice. Corporates are often just doing what is the best way things have been done overseas. Businesses rarely look at a problem and think how is the best way to solve it. They first ask how other people have solved it elsewhere. Hence when those same corporate folks look at a startup they think if it hasnt been done overseas already its probably not worth doing. Its just not best practice. I fucking hate the idea of implementing best practice. Lets just try and be the best or move to Silicon Valley where the best already are
