Walking the streets alone

Hi Kim,

Thank you for posting, I couldn’t agree more that we need to address this behavior and teach boys that this behavior is not appropriate. I have just spent a week in LA and was appalled at how many older men, well into their “silver years” have starred me down, approached me for no reason and just in general are looking for young and vulnerable females, to which class I definitely don’t belong. But this behavior seems predatory and perverse to me. I’ve seen older gentlemen approach teenagers, basically children, who might not know how to handle this or have the confidence to tell them to get lost. I’ve even observed older men use small dogs to “lure” girls for a conversation. It’s disgusting. We need to teach girls how to handle themselves better and boys how not to grow up to be this way.
