Email — Not a secure method of communication

There has been much talk about email in the news lately — particularly as it applies to the American political system. It is possible that email issues prevented Hillary Clinton from being elected as President and now Donald Trump Jr is having similar problems.

This is not a new issue. Years ago Microsoft lost a court case due to emails being presented in court that contradicted what Microsoft was saying in public. I am amazed that there are still people who are writing incriminating comments in email.

If you are planning to communicate anything that is confidential you should consider a more secure method. Unless your phones are tapped you can probably have a conversation that will not be saved for posterity.

Apparently it needs to be said again — don’t write anything in an email that you would not want to see on the front page of a newspaper.
