Seldom does someone confront their demons with such clarity, honesty and humor. Pieces like this do much more than allow the injured writer to move on, they serve as talisman, cautionary tail, and inspiration for the rest of us. The last couple of years have seen us finally addressing the importance of mental health and so many people just think that means throwing drugs at it; not unlike the way we throw money at everything. But this is a vitally important conversation to add to the mix. While it may not seem so at first, this, it turns out, is as universal a story as exists. For who among us hasn’t been “over-medicated” on one thing or another? I hope that the writer doesn’t hesitate and turns this into a memoir immediately.
