Come on, folks. How difficult is it for people to put things into context? Time and place? Are we set to “whitewash” everything? Are we really ready for “Fahrenheit 51”? Do we need a code sticker on books, as we do on movies, to help people understand what they are getting into before opening the cover?

Get a grip. Some things are meant to show us how far we have come, and yet, how far we still have to go. Personally, I hated the Nancy Drew books, too confining in terms of women’s roles, and I KNEW THAT AS A KID!
