You realize no one else is ever going to love you like I do, right?
“It’s what I’m banking on. And good luck out there to you as well.”
This one is hilarious. Like he knows the meaning of love. My ex tried to get me to stay with the rationalization, “What are you going to do — go off and be alone? After all, who else would want you?” I’d rather be alone for the rest of my life than be with someone who regards me so poorly. After I left, I actually felt less alone than when we were together.
And I agree 100% about LEAVING for the kids. I never understood the rationale of ‘staying together for the kids’. This was a huge part of my decision. I could NOT let my daughter (or son) grow up thinking, although his abuse consisted solely of passive-aggressive verbal digs, that behavior was acceptable in any relationship — romantic, business, platonic or otherwise.
Hugs.
