For a long time now, I have had similar rituals. I like to walk along the main creek to a branch that enters it by crossing the road. I stand in the creek gravel, listening as it rumbles over the big rocks, and reach up to the sun. Connected then to both Mother Earth and Father Sun. That is how I think of them. I am the most natural in nature. I love watching wind move the tops of trees and I reach up to join them. I love watching birds fly over the pasture and enjoy listening to them sing in trees nearby. I love all the animals that are my neighbors here in the forest. Much that you write about is my own as well, even though I don’t have the Native roots that bless you.
