The stars floated across the ocean, bouncing up and down on the cold, dark water. A little girl watched them from space. To her, they twinkled. And maybe it was because she was so bewildered by their brilliance, that she couldn’t see the ocean behind them. To her, the stars were simply held up, glittering, and waving at her. But there was an ocean — an enormous dense world beyond the stars that she did not, would not, see.
