Synopsis:Set in the United States during the Gilded Age, the booming years of 1880s New York City, a young Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson) moves to New York City from rural Pennsylvania after the death of her father, to live with her aunts Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) and Ada Brook (Cynthia Nixon). Marian and Peggy Scott (Denée Benton), an aspiring writer looking out for fresh opportunities, unknowingly gets involved in a social war between one of her aunts, as they get dominated by ruthless railroad tycoon George Russell (Morgan Spector), his ambitious wife Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon), and their rakish son Larry (Harry Richardson).
