You Have to Get the Poison Out

It was late one evening about ten years ago and our little Bichon dog started acting funny. She started stumbling around like she was drunk when she walked and was acting extremely lethargic and disoriented. Then, one of us, I don’t remember if it was my wife or myself, discovered an empty bag of chocolates. Dark chocolates.

Now, if you’re familiar with what dark chocolate does to dogs, you know this wasn’t good. Since we weren’t sure how much was left in the bag when she ate it we decided that we better take her to the vet. And the only vet open late in the evening is the emergency vet which can be pretty pricey. So we took her down there, and after having her consume charcoal to absorb the chocolate, and some vomiting, she was on her way back to her normal, spunky self.

Living Poison Free is the Only Way to Be

It really is amazing how a small, minuscule amount of poison can alter how we function so significantly and maybe even kill us. I don’t think our dog would’ve died if we hadn’t had her treated, based on what the vet said. But you never know and that’s why you have to get that stuff out of the system as soon as possible. Poison, of any kind, will hinder you until it’s eliminated from your body and/or mind.

Are You Poison Free?

Think about that question for a minute and answer truthfully. It’s the only way you can improve your life. You have to get rid of the poison that’s either already in you. Or you have to stop ingesting it on a regular basis.

Let me explain.

You might be wondering what I mean by poison already in you. What I’m talking about is something that may have happened to you when you were a child. You could’ve been abused mentally, physically, or both or had a traumatic experience that you have never dealt with properly. And no matter how successful your life might look on the outside, that poison will eat you up on the inside until you get it out.

Whether you seek therapy, go out in the woods and scream, write a letter to yourself, talk to someone else, or whatever it is that works for you to get it out. You must get it out. Because until you do it will eat you from the inside out like acid. I don’t know how to paint a better picture of what it does to you than that. And it starts spreading to the people around you, the ones you love, because you haven’t dealt with it properly.

And contrary to popular belief, money, sexual partners, cars, houses, boats, vacations, drugs, alcohol, or any other vice will not eliminate the poison.

Stop Ingesting It

Believe it or not, a lot of people are addicted to poison. And they can be addicted in different ways. Even though drugs are toxic to the body, that’s not the poison I’m talking about. Some people poison themselves by telling themselves how worthless they are. Or how stupid they are. Or how fat they are. Or how ugly they are. They hate that they do this and believe this, but once that poison seeps into the cells it’s hard to get out. That is until they start putting in a remedy, positive thoughts and beliefs, that push the toxins out.

Another way people ingest these poisonous toxins is by surrounding themselves with negative, verbally abusive people that always have an insult or put down on the end of their tongue. This usually comes in the form of a toxic relationship that someone doesn’t know how to get out of. Or worse yet is afraid to leave because they don’t think they can find anyone better. When in reality being alone would be a much better situation.

Until You Do

I just watched Gary Vaynerchuck, or Gary Vee, as most people call him, explain this to a gentleman who had a $100 million company, a beautiful wife and great kids. This is what he told Gary anyway. And it inspired me to write this. But his mom died from an overdose when he was young so he did not have the greatest childhood. And he was explaining to Gary how he was still struggling, even though everything looked good on the outside. He was even struggling to tell Gary that he was struggling. That’s how bad the poison is. You have to get it out.
