Gee, now I know why I stay far, far away from Facebook and only read my email twice a day. I never really analyzed the feeling, but somehow I knew I was being “had” when I found myself wasting hours of aimless screen time — as C.S. Lewis put it, doing neither what I ought, nor what I liked. It helps to live in a place where there is not ubiquitous cell service, too. There are few such places left, and I think we should cherish them. Good article. Good luck with reforming the industry :-)
