DecodeMTL + WeWork

WeWork is an American company which provides shared workspace, community, and services for entrepreneurs, freelancers, startups and small businesses. With 50+ locations throughout North America, Europe, and Israel, they operate the largest collection of co-working spaces in the world.

Recently, WeWork has announced their first Canadian location in Montreal’s iconic Place Ville Marie (PVM). Taking over 60,000 square feet, spread over two full floors, a plethora of companies and freelancers will soon call this new space home.

Since DecodeMTL’s inception, we’ve made a conscious effort to strive for excellence in all aspects of our business. A key component to this, is giving our students an inspiring and creative learning environment.

WeWork — What it means to be a member.

Fast-forward to March 2016, we will become part of the WeWork family. Other top code schools such as General Assembly and Florida based Wyncode already call WeWork their home. DecodeMTL will be the first in Canada.

All of our students and staff, will become full members of WeWork. Here are a few reasons why we are so excited about this:

LOCATION

Place Ville Marie is arguably one of Montreal’s most iconic buildings. It is located in the heart of downtown Montreal and is connected to the underground city.

Place Ville Marie is a large office and shopping complex in central Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

For those who are not familiar with Montreal, our downtown core has a huge network of interconnected buildings, malls, tunnels, and public transportation making it possible to travel throughout our city without ever stepping outside (great for the winter months). PVM is directly linked to 3 subway stations, as well as the Lucien -L’Allier and Gare Centrale train stations. Read more about accessing PVM here.

PERKS

Ultimately, our priority is to set all of our students up for success. Having a learning environment that takes care of the small things, allows our students to focus on what matters most. Here is a list of perks our students will benefit from:

  • Beautiful collaborative, inspiring, physical space
  • Free gourmet roasted coffee, filtered fruit water, and beer on tap
  • Access to the WeWork member network of 40,000 people
  • Regular events (formal & informal) to encourage connections
  • Access to conference rooms, lounges, & full-service kitchens

COMMUNITY

Connecting our ever-growing community of alumni, staff, and students with WeWorks community of entrepreneurs, freelancers, and businesses creates excellent networking opportunities.

Between the regular events and the member network, many of our students will end up getting hired by fellow WeWork companies, or finding freelance work within the community.
