The Deconet team has been fans of CanYa since the project entered the scene in 2015. We look at CanYa as a real game-changer in the peer to peer services space. They recently launched their Alpha product that includes an online community of over 10,000 users and 46,000 service providers, all exchanging services and payments through low-fee, decentralized cryptocurrency transactions around the world. This recent launch puts them right on target with their roadmap of full decentralization by 2019.

Today, Deconet is thrilled to announce our partnership with their brilliant team lead by CEO and Co-Founder, JP Thor, who gave us some insights into CanYa, and why this partnership makes sense.

Get to know CanYa

CanYa is creating a decentralised peer to peer services marketplace built on Web3 technology, managed through decentralised governance. Like Deconet, CanYa is a two-sided marketplace: you can utilize it as a freelancer providing a service, or as an individual in need of a service.

CanYa gives individuals the opportunity to hire the best professionals from anywhere in the world. The CanYa ecosystem is powered by CanYaCoins, allowing for payments in a wide variety of cryptocurrencies.

When the opportunity for CanYa to acquire Bountysource appeared — a leading website for open source bounties and crowdfunding — they realized the community was naturally aligned with CanYa’s mission.

CanYa and Bountysource

CanYa recently acquired Bountysource and their community of world-class teams, bringing with it 49,000 open source developers from around the world. CanYa and Deconet both recognize that decentralised and open-source technology is about to change the world in a monumental way — and now, are aligned in helping build and maintain the technical infrastructure that keeps our digital lives flowing smoothly.

CanYa also recognizes that encouraging and promoting bounty-hunting for smart contracts and blockchain projects is an extremely important facet of creating robust and well-tested code.

The CanYa and Deconet Partnership

As CEO and Co-Founder JP Thor put it, “We are looking forward to working with Deconet, as we are aligned in creating the right ecosystems to promote and reward open source development. We look forward to sharing technologies and ecosystems.”

CanYa will roll out a suite of “CANApps” — a decentralised global infrastructure that will allow digital nomads and freelancers to work and get paid with no intermediaries, extremely low fees, and with self-sovereign data and identity.

Deconet and CanYa both believe in the digital revolution on our doorstep, and we are excited to be working together in building the structures on which that future can thrive.

CanYa’s commitment to decentralizing peer to peer transactions and Deconet’s innovations in open source innovation structures are both parts of the complex problems that face a quickly evolving, decentralized, globalized future, and is proud to be a partner enabling Canya teams teams to earn money for their work on open source.
