How to Support My Work

I recently transitioned to full-time freelance writing. For the last nine months, I worked as a copywriter for a local marketing firm while freelancing part-time. Fortunately, I have finally made the leap. A few people have asked how they can support me, and here’s six ways you can, too:

  1. Subscribe to my monthly newsletter, I Work For Myself. Rather than writing blog posts publicly, I write about what I’ve recently published in a more intimate medium.
  2. Follow me on Medium, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Never miss a new byline.
  3. Continue to share, like, and comment on the content I write. I’m not compensated by clicks, but high traffic helps me when pitching future assignments to prospective publications.
  4. Purchase my chapbook, Tenacity, for only $5 — shipping included. While I typically write news stories and essays for online publications, this is a way to support an (unfortunately) less profitable endeavor.
  5. Send me coffee money via PayPal. Since I don’t go into an office everyday, I often work in coffeeshops. Typically, followers send me $3.
  6. Learn about my creative services. I offer editing, transcription, and other services for individual projects. Remember me if you or someone you know needs to hire a writer.

Here’s what two previous clients have said about my work:

“Danielle has been a lifesaver. She’s an extremely fast and accurate transcriber. Often, she will hand in work before deadline and she is always prompt to reply to requests.” — Laura Morgan
“She’s creative and versatile in her writing, whether she’s writing about real estate for one of our clients or working freelance. She gets the job done. She’s very passionate as well.” — John McMillian, COO/co-founder of Vyral Marketing

Thanks for your interest in supporting my work! I’ve posted this list above as a Twitter thread and Facebook posts, but wanted to compile in on Medium so it’s easy to find and link back to. I encourage other writers and creatives to do the same. Even if you have a Patron account, there are other ways to support creative work.
