Welcome to The Decred Drive. Every Thursday this brief newsletter highlights top-notch Decred content and action from the previous week.
As expected, Decred is kicking off 2020 with commitment, passion, and drive. Here is this week’s spotlight action:
- Decred in Depth with DCR LN lead Matheus Degiovani. Matheus comes to us from Brazil to provide an overview of how DCR LN works.
- Chain Reaction Podcast with Strategy Lead Akin Sawyerr was released. This is a must listen episode — very much enjoyed it.
- Decred is covered by Checkmate in Spencer Noon’s new publication The Network. Very nice work by Checkmate here.
- Decred On-Chain: HODLer Conversation Rates was published by PermabullNino, a leading on-chain researcher for Decred. (Highly recommend checking out his previous research pieces as well: Decred On-Chain: A look at Block Subsidies and Decred On-Chain: The Ticket Pool VWAP”
- a16z’s Jesse Walden, compliments and makes note of Decred’s own RichardRed0x for his work documenting and detailing the history of crypto governance at cryptocommons.cc.
- PermabullNino also had an interesting tweet on the trading front that could prove to be a good signal for bottoming DCR Market Cap. Something to keep an eye on. Check it out here.
- Great thread on Twitter from BlackBear XVII speaking to the adaptable nature of Decred.
- Continued visible progress was made on DCR LN development. Definitely worth taking some time to study the progress and development here.
- Poolin.com mining pool upgraded to Decred v1.5. Follow the upgrade here.
- Strategy Lead Akin Sawyerr pushed back against arguments for Libra at the Digital Money Forum. Personally, I love this quote: “I’m not convinced that a council of self-interested companies can do money better than a decentralized system … the only way is to empower the individuals to have some base-level sovereignty.” That right there pretty much says it all.
Hard to believe, but this is just 1 week in the world of Decred. Onward!
