Oh yes, and PLEASE get to know your own mother as a person, rather than “just your mum”. I planned a trip with my mum when she was 73, just to get to know her, but she died on the operating table before I had the chance. I wanted to know about the American Pilot she was engaged to who died in Singapore, before she met my dad (even dad didn’t know about that…my uncle told me!), I wanted to know so much about who she was….too late.
