Improvisation has always been a powerful force in music and has also had its place among in the creative process for classical composers, such as Bach, Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, for centuries. From these improvisations came pieces, snippets of musical fodder we call melodies. These melodies, in turn, came to be some of the most recognizable and timeless classics of the western musical tradition.
