Deemr, part 2: the “why”

A while back, as we started shaping the concept of what Deemr would come to be, we became more and more aware that decision making processes for regular people was a poorly developed field in technology.

There is not much out there in the ever expanding “apps” world that is dedicated to tackle this very common activity. After all, the average amount of remotely conscious decisions an adult makes each day equals about 35,000. We are bound to need some help to improve their quality.

Of course some people are better than others at analyzing pros and cons, researching and planning or being assertive, but even then, everyone still makes, and will continue to make, some sub-optimal decisions.

Additionally, we all know (or are ourselves) that person who just can’t make decisions, even the easiest ones. This person is also why we are doing this.

Knowledge comes from experience, our own and others. Sharing that back and forward can lead to a virtually infinite wealth of information, and we want everyone to be able to reach for it, and be better after they do.

We believe there are several paths to improving decisions, challenge opinions or test thoughts and ideas. Deemr is being built to be the easiest path towards finding the right answers.

We have bigger plans for the future, but we want to start with the most basic yet strong foundation: building a lively and engaged community of users ready to vote honestly and quickly, sharing their lived and learned experiences with each vote, and fueling each others’ minds with new approaches and perspectives.
