The solar system contains many objects from gas giant planets, to very small asteroids, to comets. In this article, we will tell you about the most remarkable, strange, or unusual celestial bodies in the solar system.

We should note that this selection cannot be considered exhaustive. Astronomers estimate that there are over 150 million asteroids alone in our system, most of which have not yet been discovered. If readers like this article, it will be the first in a series of publications about various remarkable celestial bodies in our system.

So, to the list!

(29075) 1950 DA

First on our list will be a small near-Earth asteroid with the easy-to-remember name (29075) 1950 DA. It’s about 2 kilometers in diameter and is one of the potentially dangerous to Earth asteroids. However, we should not worry because of it, as the highest probability of its collision with the Earth will be in the year 2880 and will be only 1 chance in 300.

In 2014, scientists at the University of Tennessee discovered that this asteroid is what is sometimes called a “pile of rubble. That is, a large number of small rocks that are held together by gravity.
