Why did Nikola Tesla deny the theory of relativity?

I was recently talking to an engineer who, during his physics course, had not mastered the theory of relativity. He, for some ideological reason, categorically denied it. After all his arguments had been demonstrably refuted, he pulled out his “last trump card. With a victorious look he said, “Why should I listen to you, if Nikola Tesla himself considered the theory of relativity erroneous!

Yes indeed, if one does not want to listen to me, I do not insist, but still in this article I will discuss why Nikola Tesla did not accept the theory of relativity.

Mainly the reason is that Tesla was a man of his time. He was an electrical engineer. The theory of the ether, which existed in the 19th century, was completely suitable for all the problems that Tesla was interested in. In addition, the theory of the ether was (like all physics before Einstein), quite intuitive. That is, everything in it worked the way common sense suggests.
