Warner pushing for special designation to allow more drone experiments in Virginia

The United States Senate, Mark Robert Warner, is looking out to get permission from the FAA in order to conduct drone experiments in Virginia.

The UAS Integration Pilot Program encourages localities to partner with drone companies and submit proposals for far-out experiments, and the numbers of applicants have submitted the proposals. Warner is working hard and also had words with Google’s drone team, Project Wing and the department of transportation to try to land the designation in Virginia.

“The state is a natural candidate for drone activity, given the size of the defence and intelligence industries already here,” says Warner in an interview.
