If you apply for a job but forget to include the person who referred you in the cover letter, should you reapply with the corrected cover letter?

No, you shouldn’t!

Reapplying again, gives the impression that you are forgetful — which isn’t what you want to convey. If you’re cover letter and cv is good enough you will make it through to interview regardless!

However, if you are determined to make it known that you were referred — than simply call in and ask more about the role perhaps and mentioned that ‘I’m applying actually because [insert name] referred me and said x’.

Just make it sound natural :)
