My thoughts on the “entrepreneur’s dilemma” as described by Randi Zuckerberg:

Does it ring true for me?
In a word yes.
And it’s not just ‘the entrepreneur’s dilemma’:
- My cousin is a Fund Manager in Private Equity
- He sacrifices sleep and fitness. He gets v.little of both
- My friend is a Doctor
- He sacrifices friends and often family
- My uncle is a business owner ($3–5 mill USD per year)
- He sacrifices fitness and friends
- My dad used to work 100+ hours a week for his kids (story here on Quora)
- He sacrificed his friends and his ‘career’ for his family
If you want to achieve any level of success that’s disproportionate than what you start with. Something’s got to give.
