Rehanna, she wiped top stories across the web. First, she shocked the world with number of ISIS fighter she has killed. Daily mail earlier reported that this woman was beheaded by ISIS. But now the paper claims that she is alive.

A BBC article reveals that the woman might not even be an intensive Kurdish fighter either. She joined Kurdish army when her father was killed by ISIS. But there is not evidence that she is or has been a part of killing ISIS fighters.

The mystery does not end here. Some twitter sources reveal that the woman was first photographed by Pawan Durani and posted on Twitter. He also revealed that she was a Kurdish fighter and had killed more than 100 ISIS fighters.

When one sees such a story, the first think that sparks off is, why is the woman being given importance.

As the news of her killing over 100 ISIS fighters was revealed on twitter, it can be assumed that the news picked up without a proper mention of source. And soon the world started to believe a tweet and praise the woman.

Not only so, then came the possibly cooked stories about ISIS having caught her. Then the news of her beheading swept the papers and news websites. Even though major papers did not carry the story, some papers did.

Yet it continues. No one knows why is this being created, no one knows how did the story start exactly and no one knows the importance but still such news finds a mention in some media outlets.

It is perhaps the panic over the ISIS reporting that lead the news outlet to speculate into vigorous reporting about every story. This could easily be called a propaganda story in the news arena.
