Ada was just twelve when she began hearing voices in her head; you are so ugly, Your face is nothing to write home about.She kept going back to look into the mirror to prove the voice wrong but then ,her heart was too weak and as the years went by, she succumbed to the voice and deemed herself ugly.

The voice she continously heard is a feeling of worthlessness, a lack of confidence in oneself, and a belief that one is inferior to others. This can have a significant impact on one’s life, including relationships, career, and overall happiness.

What is low self-esteem?

Self esteem is the way we think about ourselves and the value we place on ourselves.We all criticize ourselves from time to time, but if you think badly about yourself or judge yourself negatively, you may have low self-esteem.

Your self-esteem can affect whether you:

⁃Can make decisions and assert yourself

⁃Recognise your strengths

⁃Feel able to try new or difficult things
