Well actually, it is against the law. In particular, the search and seizure of private information of US persons is a violation of the 4th amendment if done without a warrant.

Furthermore, it was treason. A direct violation of the oath to uphold the Constitution by turning the apparatus of the state against the Constitutional electoral processes.

Nothing could be more serious. She was working to overturn or cripple the ability of the American people to govern themselves by subverting a trust.
