At first it seems strange that the website would use this pale blue which has come to be associated with the identity of the City of Chicago, but not use the other two colors — red and white — instead opting for a contrasting orange (note: the red and white are present in my photo above, but only in an image for an article, not in the site design itself). But then I considered that, to me, a website with a red, white and blue color scheme would make me think of a campaign page for a politician, or something involved with the federal government.

The City of Chicago counts as local government to me. I expected the colors from the Chicago flag myself.
