Flair Airlines, a Canadian low-cost carrier, has a specific cancellation policy designed to accommodate various customer needs while maintaining its operational efficiency. The policy can be broadly categorized into different scenarios based on the timing of the cancellation and the type of fare purchased.

General Cancellation Guidelines

Cancellation Within 24 Hours of Booking:

Full Refund: Flair Airlines offers a full refund for flights cancelled within 24 hours of booking, provided that the booking was made at least seven days before the departure date. This is in line with common industry practices aimed at providing customers with flexibility and peace of mind shortly after booking.

Cancellation After 24 Hours of Booking:

Non-Refundable Fare: For most of Flair Airlines’ fares, cancellations made after 24 hours of booking are non-refundable. This includes the airline’s basic economy fares, which are typically the lowest-cost options but come with more stringent restrictions.

Refundable Fare: If a passenger has purchased a fare that allows for refunds, the cancellation must be made in accordance with the fare rules specified at the time of purchase. These fares generally come at a higher price but offer more flexibility.

Fee Structure

Cancellation Fees: Depending on the fare type and the timing of the cancellation, a cancellation fee may apply. This fee varies and is deducted from the refund amount or applied to the credit issued for future travel.

Standard Fee: For cancellations made more than 7 days before departure, a standard fee is applied.

Higher Fee: Cancellations made within 7 days of departure generally incur a higher fee due to the short notice.

Credits and Rebooking

1. Travel Credits: If a passenger cancels a non-refundable fare outside the 24-hour window, they may be eligible for a travel credit after deducting the applicable cancellation fee. This credit can be used for future travel on Flair Airlines and usually has an expiration date, often one year from the date of issue.

2. Rebooking Options: Passengers also have the option to rebook their flight instead of cancelling, subject to availability and fare differences. This option might involve paying a change fee in addition to any fare difference.

Exceptional Circumstances

1. Force Majeure and Unforeseen Events: In cases of force majeure or other significant unforeseen events (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics), Flair Airlines may offer more flexible cancellation and refund policies. These situations are assessed on a case-by-case basis and may result in full refunds or waivers of fees.

2. Medical Emergencies: Passengers who need to cancel due to medical emergencies are advised to contact Flair Airlines’ customer service. Documentation such as a medical certificate may be required to qualify for any special consideration.

How to Cancel

1. Online: Cancellations can be made through the Flair Airlines website by accessing the ‘Manage My Booking’ section. This is the most straightforward and convenient method.

2. Customer Service: Passengers can also cancel by contacting Flair Airlines’ customer service via phone or email. This may be necessary for complex cases or to request special considerations.

While many of the low-cost fares are non-refundable, options exist for refunds and credits under specific conditions. Understanding these policies can help passengers make informed decisions when booking and managing their travel plans.

Due to ever-changing security measures in Canada, Flair guaranteed free COVID coverage on all of our flights during the period, while restrictions were applied by public health authorities. The coverage gives customers the ability to rebook on any future Flair flight, or if they are unsure of their desired travel date, redeem future travel credit using our online self-service portal.

Details on Covid coverage

COVID coverage is available for use on all future trips and can be used as many times as needed. There will be no waiting times for processing and unlimited changes are available. There is a $ 25 processing fee and any difference in fee, if applicable. Future travel credit is for the reservation value net of applicable fees. Future travel credit can be used for up to two years from the reservation date with the same registered passenger names. For passengers using a roundtrip ticket, the change or cancellation can be made on one or both parts of the flight. If both methods, the change or cancellation must be done for each method separately.

Changes must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure time. If a passenger cancels their flight within 47 hours of take-off, the cancellation will be subject to the normal exchange fee of $ 125. No changes can be made within 3 hours of departure. When a change occurs, any difference in the fare will be the responsibility of the passenger. If the new flight date is related to a lower priced product, the fare reduction will be lost.

Who can use Covid coverage

COVID coverage applies only to travelers who have booked their trip directly from flyflair.com. Passengers whose trip has been booked through other websites cannot be modified. Passengers who have booked with a travel agent using Hahn Air Systems should contact them directly for changes or cancellations.

For travelers using TravelFlex, split bookings, credits for future trips, or previously canceled flights, the online portal cannot be used. Contact our support team by email support@flyflair.com.

How to use covid coverage

1. Access the COVID coverage portal

2. Enter your reservation number and last name to access your reservation.

3. Verify the reservation and select Continue.

4. Scroll down and select the flight stage. Then, under the listed flights, select Cancel Flight, for future travel credit, or Change Flight, to change the flight date. For a round trip, this step must be completed twice.

5. For the “Cancel” selection, confirm by selecting “I agree”. If there is an additional flight (from a return ticket), repeat the cancellation with the second flight. Once the flight cancellation is complete, the reservation number remains in the system with a future travel credit in the credit, which will be applied to the next flight. Keep your reservation number, you will need it when you are ready to reserve.

6. To select Change Flight, follow the prompts to search for a new flight, select the flight and any additional items. Any difference in fares will appear as a future travel credit or will require a payment. Additional options allow you to email your updated itinerary and make additional changes if necessary.

Discount calendar for 2024

Due to the reduced demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Flair has had to reduce its schedule between January and April 2021. All passengers on the affected flights have been reimbursed or will be re-booked. Flair remains dedicated to its passengers and the communities it serves and looks forward to returning to full schedule as soon as possible. Passengers on canceled flights will receive an email with instructions. This was sent to the email address provided at the time of booking. Refunds will be issued to the same payment card used for the initial purchase and may take up to 4 weeks to arrive due to bank, credit card and administrative processing.
