I learned recently that Uber is financing cars for its drivers in Nairobi. They know which drivers are rated 4 stars. They know how the driver drives. They know how much money the driver makes. This makes all the sense in the world.

Uber financing cars in the US has not been stellar. Any indication this will be different, and how it will be different from the old company store model of buying at high prices against future wages? I suppose in this case it’s actually tougher, since income for Uber drivers is less reliable than it was in company towns.
