The Persona

So I've stopped lying to myself,

Pretending it’s okay,

Hiding behind my insecurities,

Creating a pretty face,

There is a war inside of me,

A battle I can’t win on my own,

I ask the Lord for guidance,

To hide me in his love.

Sometimes I get blinded,

Blinded by the love that’s not real,

Thinking it’s a release from the pain of rejection.

Just when I thought I got a release,

Oh Hallelujah freedom,

Shattered in pieces once again,

How much more can I take?

Using my energy on a soul,

Another love I thought I had.

Sometimes I lose sight of your glory Lord,

By the things which bombarded and control me,

Is it even worth the wait?

In the battle,

Don’t loose the faith boy,

Why you trying for all you know you gonna fail?

But at all times I will bless him,

His praise shall be in my mouth,

My soul shall make a boast in the Lord,

The humble man shall hear of him,

The afflicted will be glad.

Stop living in a fantasy world,

Where everything seems nice and dandy,

Face reality,

Stand up to it,

Never loose that fire my love,
