Pretending Happy, to Be Happy

On my way to work this morning, the traffic was quite bad that I had some spare time to think. Think about life. Think about happiness.

I suppose happiness the ultimate goal in life, for EVERYONE. The definition of happiness itself is a blur. There is no such thing as the right happiness. You have to define your own happiness, and that is the challenge.

What makes you happy?

If you know what it is, and you have it, then congratulations. If you know what it is but you don’t have it, keep working on it! I know you can do it! If you do not know what it is, don’t worry because you are not alone. At least I know one person in this world just like you, which is me.

However, I don’t want to make it such a big deal. Finding happiness is important, meanwhile, all we can do is pretend to be happy. Not in a way that we are putting a mask on ourselves, and pretending to be someone else. But there is this saying :

Happy people are beautiful. They become like a mirror and they reflect that happiness — Drew Barrymore

Somehow, we human absorbs the energy that is reflected around us. If we surround ourselves in a happy situation or within a group of happy people, eventually we will be happy. However, those people may not be always available.

As for me, during my bad times, I don’t expect anyone to be there all the time to comfort me. All I could do in such situation is pretending to be happy. I put a big smile on my face as if I’m full of energy and everything is doing great and my life is awesome (although of course, it is not true most of the time). But believe me, when you radiates that happiness, unconsciously you are turning your surroundings happy as they receive your signal. And when you’re surrounded by happiness, without you knowing, you ended up not pretending to be happy anymore.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I hope it works for you too! Goodluck!
