There are some things that should stay forgotten

Jodi didn’t want to be in Jamaica.

The place was beautiful, as picturesque as it looked in the magazines, but there was little for her to do when night fell.

In the day, she had the beach, with its acres of pretty golden sand and an expanse of blue to call her own but at night, she was bound to whatever old people crap her family wanted to do.

It was why she hadn’t wanted to come to Jamaica in the first place.

If they’d gone to somewhere like Cuba, she would have had touristy things to do. They’d probably be staying in a hotel with a casino. Somewhere she could meet new people and enjoy herself.

But they had family in Jamaica, which meant she was staying in an old house with no air conditioning and limited access to cable channels.

Her parents were off partying but there was no way that Jodi was going to another of their family get-togethers.

At least if she stayed behind she’d have some peace and quiet, instead of the demanding questions from people she wasn’t even sure she was related to.

Sighing she stared at the fan in the ceiling.
