I echo Jack’s comments but would add that even though you may not yet have been able to “break through” just yet however you define that you have inspired plenty of others, myself included to be better. Better writers sure but more importantly better critical thinkers, stronger argument makers, more analytical when appropriate and less analytical when that is the better approach. In my view overall better people. You broke through in my book when you banged out a two thousand word (I really have no idea how long it was, no doubt exactly as long as it needed to be) philosophical tour de force on how John Rawls conception of justice as fairness might be understood through the lens of world design in video games. I mean dude, talk about micro targeting an audience, video game players with deep knowledge of contemporary ethical philosophy not gonna move a lot of units. I fuckin loved it and hope you stick with it (it being writing, specifically writing about stuff nobody else does, ever, for the long haul). I am still working on my experimental design to prove/disprove the simulated universe hypothesis. Once I get it nailed down I’ll be reaching out for reviewers. You are on my short list. Hah!
