“There isn’t much he didn’t expect to accomplish with the Company. Subversion. Coercion. Intervention to implement a new, ethical power.

Education taught Malcolm that history was defined by questionable victors. Ones, usually, approved by Western intelligence services and thus inherently pro-business, right-wing.

His country indeed had won the Cold War.

Now, for him, was the time to revise that forged path. Reform the wrongs of history. Impressions left by revolutionary struggles illustrated the need to change power structures internally. That’s why he joined the Company. Millions had marched against the turn-of-the-century campaign in Iraq and the war still occurred. Only within could he possibly hope of Western withdraw from various regions. At least militarily.

His voice, though small, would empower elements that deserve assistance. Characters, ideology, and movements ready to see a corrected past to remember and leave to proceeding loved ones. ‘Rational intervention’.

Though leaving D.C. would be a burden on the soul.

Life had been established into a convenient, pleasant routine. Watering holes, social well-being, a favorite haunt to enjoy proper meals. Such simple pleasure take many mistakes to discover. Often one expenses much money and patience before reaching this ideal in an adopted city.

Now, as the beer increasingly neared bottom of the glass, time to leave.

There was of course romance. An ‘s’ should be added to that noun, he supposed. A melange of multiple bedsheets were accessible by a simple phone call. Malcolm, like others of his generation, believed that many partners was the path to happy and lasting love. A mistake made by his parents now being reformed by their offspring. Foolish to believe that this progressive idea had been exported to the Mediterranean. Perhaps there would be some Americans in Cyprus?”
