Taking your thoughts a step farther, these analogies totally break down when you get to individual cases that show the grey areas of affirmative consent. That car example…it just assumes sex is a singular action. If you ask for just the car (sex), but you assume the foreplay (radio) is fair game, you have still raped according to the law (and many people’s idea of rape). But if you borrow someone’s car, it is a safe assumption you can use the radio, and so this analogy actually makes understanding the nuances of the language more nonintuitive.
