I’ve noticed people who don’t understand burden of proof (or do but ignore it) are really hoping that you’ll just blindly run into a conspiracy theory site (that you don’t recognize as such) that has some seemingly-plausible argument against what you already believe, and somehow because you went there yourself you’ll be convinced.

I think this is because they know if they link you to a conspiracy theory site you’ll rightfully reject it as such.

I’ve had a regrettably bad time arguing with people on the other side on Medium about anything political. It seems there’s endless assumptions of my bad faith, that I’m evil or ready to use violence against these strangers, etc…
