International World Dog Day

Today, on October 10th, is International World Dog Day. There are many international holidays that I don’t particularly care for, but in my opinion, dogs definitely deserve their own holiday. They are called man’s best friend for a reason. And I must honestly say that sometimes I prefer the company of dogs over humans.

There is hardly anything more beautiful than when you come home after a long, hard day at work, and you are showered with love by your dog, wagging its tail. Of course, people also appreciate your return if you’re lucky, but dogs are so pure and heartfelt. My dog trainer says that I should ignore the dog when I come home. Honestly, I try to follow all the advice from the dog trainer, but I can’t manage to do this one thing. I just have to give love back when so much joy is being offered to me.

However, I must also say that I have a very exemplary dog. Nala is almost 1 year old now, and she’s the first Border Collie I’ve ever had.

I grew up with a Rottweiler, who still holds a special place in my heart because she always looked out for me and was incredibly loving and funny.
