I Will Always Love You

Like the song says, I will always love you. I am dedicating this blog to things I will always love about Apple.

Over the weekend I was at the Apple Store in Pentagon City. I took the picture that is the banner of this blog post. If you have ever stopped by an Apple Store you will most likely see a line of people standing or sitting at the bar waiting for a Genius(store rep) to service them. I decided to stand back and just watch the interaction. As I panned the front of the stores I noticed the simplicity. A wall of glass. Pure genius. There is no need for flashing neon lights. Customers can see throughout the entire store. In the back of this store simply playing on a large screen, the advertisement for the latest device, Airpods. The ad was being run on a screen that was the size of the wall. There was no sound. Simply the ad on a reel being played over and over again much like the website this past weekend. Once entering the store with my daughter we were greeted immediately by a genius holding an iPad (all employees carry to log you in for your. appointment). I began to just walk around and soak in the details. Keep in mind I have been to Apple stores hundreds of times but I have never stopped to soak it in.
This is where my first love for Apple comes in. Every detail in the store is thought of intentionally. The layout is strategically mapped out. The store has a flow to it. You have some items floating in glass cases and the remainder are on display for customers to take in the experience.
Next, my love for the simplicity of Apple, Apple for me is extremely user friendly. I live on my devices and so It is nice to have the continuity across devices. I can start something on my iPhone and send it to my iPad and finish it on my IMAC. For a Generation Xer like me ,that is a must to make my life appear to be organized. I have spoken with several individuals and this seems to be one of the key selling points. Continuity.
In the busy world that we live in, it is so easy to be able to start one task and pick up where you left off on another without having to generate a lot of steps to do it.
Have you ever experienced opening a new device from Apple? Apple makes it an experience. This might seem a little crazy but there are thousands of videos every time a new device comes out . Apple Heads know what I am talking about. Apple thinks of every detail to make that customer feel like they have purchased the most impressive, unique product to date. The packaging is just as important as the actual product. I still am not sure what to do with all of my apple stickers but I just love that I get them with each device I purchase. Take a moment and watch the unboxing of the latest Airpods. It feels like Christmas.
Doesn’t this just make you want to run out and grab a pair ? Still mot convinced ? Take a look at this video .
This I think is one of my favorite videos. No words, just unboxing and that beautiful sound you get with each unveiling.I will always love Apple’s marketing campaign. Apple’s advertisements feature people in true elements. This evokes the sentiments of the masses. Apple has that way of drawing you in and becoming a part of something you didn’t know you wanted to be in the first place.
Most of all I think I love Apple because they are about experience. They ask why? Most companies don’t start with why ? This creates that experience you want and you hook the customer in. You are taken on a journey to believe in something and you are part of something that is cutting edge, For that we have to thank Mr. Steve Jobs. One cannot think of Apple and not think about one of the co-founders Steve Jobs. Jobs challenged people at Apple to “think different” . In 1987 Steve Jobs was rehired to bring Apple back from the brink of bankruptcy. The ideology of thinking different is what led to the creation of the line of I-products that we have all grown to love. The genius who was a techy but a humanitarian and managed to make magic.

Thank You.
