Second entry

Well, the first week at the university is over. Let’s consider all the events of this seven days.

On Monday I have two lessons of English and one lesson of History.
On English, we discussed some information about studying process and then we went to the meeting with other groups where we played Scavenger hunt. So we splinted into teams and ran around the university to find places we needed for a limited time. And it was surprising because I didn’t expect such activities. Anyway, it was interesting and joyful.
On History we discussed features of Russian Civilization and the mentality of Russian people.

On Tuesday I have only General Physical Preparation. And I spent two hours on the road there and back home for only 20 minutes speech about the studying process. Well, it was unuseful and I would better stay at home, but besides that, I also signed up for University Touristic Association, I think it will be interesting experience.

On Wednesday I have two lessons of English. We went to the university library, signed up there and get our textbooks. And then we started to study the American phonetic alphabet.

On Thursday I have The History of International Relations, General Physical Preparation, Informational and Analitical work. The most beautiful for me was that lessons of General Physical Preparation will be on Upper Volga Embankment. I really like this place because there is an incredible view of the city. Every time when I come to the university early and have an extra hour before the lessons I spend it there.

On Friday I have two lessons of English. On the second lesson, we went to the library where we watched a cartoon on English which is called “The Road to El Dorado”. There was one problem with subtitles but it didn’t spoil the impression of the cartoon. And there was one funny happening. In the Unversity Library, I noticed the book “Why the Earth is flat”. I thought that at University we will study serious and true knowledge but on a par with that, you can find a pseudoscience literature in the library. Sadly but truly.

Summarizing, I want to say that studying at the University is different than studying at school. You learning only what you like and what you need in your future career. I also feel something like the beginning of another, new life, the beginning of adulthood and independence. And I like this feeling…
