Son of Saul might be soul-crushing, but it’s a great film anyway — and saying it’s Oscar win was unjust is going too far. Nemesz found an original form for the concentration camp story — not exploitative but true to the suffering and the horror of the Holocaust tragedy. It’s not a fun film but it’s poetic.
