As a nation, we have become so short-sighted, Stephen M. Tomic, when we were once so progressive and innovative. Our dilapidated rail system is one of many examples of our lack of forethought and planning. In fact, our entire infrastructure is collapsing while we reverse the tax base needed to maintain, improve, and advance the very systems that once made us the most advanced country in the world.
